Builders Risk Insurance

What is Builder's Risk Insurance?

Builder's Risk Insurance covers the structure of a single-family residential project in case of fire, hail, wind, vandalism and theft of materials that will become permanent parts of the structure. This includes things like windows, lumber, appliances, HVAC, etc.


Why should I have Builder's Risk Insurance?

Rather than relying on your clients to secure builder's risk insurance and keep track of the policies, you can purchase the policy for each of your projects and include it in the overall cost. Add a new tool to your wheelhouse and confidently tell clients that you can build their home and provide a builder's risk insurance policy, ensuring security.


Why is important for me to purchase BRI?

When you purchase the policy, you also control the claim process. If a client purchases the policy, sometimes they are reluctant to turn in a claim as it may have a negative impact on their future rates, which could lead to difficulty in getting simple issues paid for and resolved. Purchasing your builder's risk policy through Buildertrend takes that issue away.


Is there a fee?

No, there is no fee.


Are Buildertrend's Insurance services available for international clients?

Currently, it's only for US clients.


How do I apply for Builders Risk Insurance?

Builder's Risk Insurance quotes from Buildertrend Insurance Services are completely free.

Go to the User Profile Icon in the top right corner of your account and click on Company Settings. Scroll to the Project Management section and click on Builder's Risk Insurance.


How do I request a policy on a job?

You’ll need to apply for Builder's Risk Insurance by job. To do so, follow the below steps:

  • Select the Job Info icon for the desired job from the left Job Menu.

  • In the Job Details Window scroll down to the Builder's Risk Insurance section and click the Get Started button.

  • Update the Jobsite Request Form to get the process started.

  • Once all has been updated, scroll to the bottom and check the box for the policy Disclaimer.

  • Our insurance partner will contact you by email or phone to provide your quotes, payment link, and outline any next steps.
