Buildertrend does carry primary financial risk of its clients, and has operational control in establishing reasonable merchant pricing and timing of funding payouts to its clients (merchants), but Buildertrend does not have access to its clients’ merchant proceeds (deposited funds). Following Federal banking regulations, those funds are held at Adyen’s bank under a trust account ‘for the benefit of’ (FBO) the client.
Buildertrend’s commercial and legal situation has no bearing on Buildertrend’s clients’ merchant deposits. If Adyen’s US bank were to go under (a la Silicon Valley Bank), FDIC insurance does apply to bank deposits for businesses, however certain conditions do apply. Please refer to the FDIC’s website for further details.

Navigate to the Company Settings.
Under the Project Management section, select Risk Insurance.
To begin the application process, select Get Started.
Complete the Builder's Risk Insurance Application with information about your business. Please ensure that the information is accurate. Click Sign & Submit when complete.
Provide an electronic signature, then click Approve.
After completing the form, you will see an Pending or Approved status.
A representative will reach out shortly to confirm your application and answer any additional questions that you may have. Application approval generally takes under a day.
While your application is under review, Buildertrend recommends setting up your payment method to put policies in place.
After approval, you may move onto the next steps below.

Navigate to the Jobs List on the left and select the Job Info icon.
Select the Builder's Risk Insurance tab at the top of the Job Details page.
To request a quote, click the Request a BRI policy button.
Complete the Jobsite Request Form with information about the job. Please ensure that the information is accurate. Select Review when complete.
Then, fill out the Policy Holder information and any bank information if you have a bank loan (if not, check the None checkbox).
Check the Disclaimer box at the bottom of the page and click Review.
Review the information and click Sign & Submit.
Provide an electronic signature, then click Approve.
Congratulations, you've now requested a policy for your job!
New options will now be available for you within the Builder's Risk Insurance tab, including starting a claim and downloading Jobsite Binder.
