The Comparative Overlay feature is designed to allow you to overlay one set of plans over the top of another. For example, an original set of plans and a revised set of plans.

When using the Overlay Feature, one thing to note, the plans will need to be the same size and drawn in the same scale to work properly.

To begin, highlight the first page in Buildertrend Takeoff. This is the page that will be considered the Original Page.

Navigate to the Tools tab located at the top and click on Page Overlay.

Select, Comparative Page Overlay, then click Next.

Select the Blank Page, and give the new page a Name (Title).

Once updated, click Select.

Once the page has loaded, the colors displayed will be the following:

  • Any new changes made - RED

  • Began on the original plans but is not on the new plans - BLUE

  • Exactly the same - BLACK
