Protecting your financial information is top of mind for us at Buildertrend. To continue providing a safe and secure experience, we have added additional security measures for Australian Builder accounts connected to Xero in the form of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

What is MFA?

MFA simply ensures that users who access your application are authenticated. Currently, you sign-in with your username and password for the mobile app or desktop version. With MFA, there will be an additional layer of account security in the form of email authentication. A security code will be emailed to your email on file and you’ll use that code to login. This additional step will take just moments and prevent unauthorized access to your account.

What steps do I need to take?

The MFA experience will be seamless and take just a few moments. You won’t have to do anything, upon sign-in, you will be prompted to go through the below workflow once every 30 days or after manually logging out.

Email Authentication Steps for Desktop:

  1. Upon sign-in, a screen will pop-up prompting you to retrieve a one-time security code emailed to your email on file.

2. Go to your email and you will see an email like below with your one-time security code.

3. From here you have two options. The first option is to click Verify Email and you will be logged in automatically and taken to your Summary Page.

4. Or the other option is to copy or type in your security code from the email into the One-time Code field.

5. Click Confirm and you’re logged into your account and taken to your Summary Page

Email Authentication Steps for Mobile:

  1. Upon sign-in, a screen will pop-up prompting you to retrieve a one-time security code emailed to your email on file.

2. Go to your email and you will see an email like below with your one-time security code.

3. From here you have two options. The first option is to click Verify Email and you will be asked if you want to open the link in the Buildertrend app. Click Open and you will be logged in automatically and taken to your Summary Page.

4. Or the other option is to copy or type in your security code from the email into the One-time Code field.

5. Click Confirm and you’re logged into your account and taken to your Summary Page.

Don’t have an email on file?

Not a problem! Either contact your internal administrator to add an email to your user account or contact Buildertrend Support.
