There are two options for copying items from an existing schedule to another.

*We recommend the first option if you have more than one scheduling item you would like to copy to another job schedule.*

Option 1:

  1. Select the specific job from the Jobs Menu on the left side of the screen and go to the schedule for that job.

  2. Once in the correct job schedule, select List View.

  3. Select all items or only the certain items you want to copy. Once you have the items you want selected, click on the Checked Actions box in the top right corner.

  4. Select Copy Schedule Items and choose the job you’d like to copy it to from the Destination Job drop-down box.

  5. The schedule items will then be copied over.

Option 2:

*The second option is to template the entire job schedule. We recommend this option if you have standardized schedules for all your jobs.*

This option allows you to use the same schedule for every new job without having to recreate it each time. It’s as simple as a few clicks. See below for a step-by-step example.

How to save an existing schedule as a template:

  1. Select the specific job from the Jobs Menu on the left side of the screen.

  2. Then, click the i icon, which will open your Job Details.

3. At the top of the Job Details window, click Copy to Standalone Template

4. Give the template a name and hit Convert to Standalone Template

Once converted to a template, you can access it through the Templates Menu. Simply click on Jobs Menu, under your name on the left side, and select Templates Menu.

Select the template and remove any unnecessary information. Save this version as a standardized template and use for any new jobs. Within this template, you can also add workday exceptions such as Saturday or Sunday. These days are typically blocked off on the schedule.

When starting a new job, go to the Schedule and click More Actions. Then click Import Schedule. From here you will select which schedule you want to use and choose the start date for the project and hit Save.

That’s it! The schedule can now be customized for that specific job.

Remember, you can have as many templates as you want, there’s no limit. Buildertrend saves all your templates, so they’re always handy for future projects.
