By managing your Purchase Orders and interacting with your trade partners using Buildertrend, you can implement a formal workflow for trade partners to request specific amounts as well as share any payments that you have scheduled.

This will allow for heightened communication, ensuring job costing is accurate and handled in a timely manner.

Your trade partners will need to be active in order to request payments using Buildertrend.

Using Purchase Orders in Buildertrend gives you the ability to release the information to your trade partners for final approval.

Once the purchase order has been approved by the trade, they are able to request payment.

The request can be for the entire amount of the purchase order or a specific amount of the purchase order.

If you have scheduled payments already created on the purchase order, your trade partner will have access to that information.

When a payment has been requested, you will receive a notification of the request. You can access their request information within the purchase order on the Payments tab.

A payment will be automatically created for the request, but you will need to manually fill out the amount you would like to pay.

After entering an amount that you would like to pay, you can choose to:

  • Send the payment amount to QuickBooks or Xero.

  • Pay the amount online using our integration with Chase.

  • Or simply mark it as paid within the Buildertrend platform.

At this point, you now have a formalized workflow for trade partners to request specific amounts as well as see any payments that you have scheduled on your purchase orders that have been released and approved.
