Project Management Updates

To-Do's | To-Do Scheduling on Non-Workdays | 07.23.25

You can now see non-workdays like weekends and holidays visually highlighted in the To-Do date picker. This helps you avoid accidentally scheduling tasks on days your team isn’t working and keeps your project calendar aligned. Non-workdays can no longer be selected, giving you more control and clarity when assigning dates.


Daily Logs | One-click Edit and Print | 07.23.25

You’ll now see Edit and Print buttons placed directly on each daily log, making those actions quicker to access. Weather and tag information now appears under “Additional Details,” helping keep the view state clean. By removing the old rollup menu, this update streamlines your workflow and makes commonly used actions easier to find.


Financials Updates

Invoice Settings | Default Draw Schedule | 07.23.25

You can now set a default draw schedule at the account level that applies automatically to new fixed price jobs. This helps reduce repetitive setup, so you no longer have to manually enter the same schedule each time. If needed, you still have the flexibility to update or opt out of the default schedule for individual jobs.


Cashback & Discounts | Emser Supplier Details Page Updates | 07.23.25

You’ll now see a refreshed layout for Emser Tile’s supplier details page in Cashback & Discounts. This new static design includes the supplier name, type (manufacturer or distributor), key product tags, a lifestyle image with a featured product, cashback terms, and clear instructions on how to earn and redeem.


Cashback & Discounts | Bill Attachments Scanned with OCR for Rebates | 07.16.25

Receipts uploaded to Bills are now scanned using the same OCR technology as the Cost Inbox. If a receipt includes an eligible offer from one of our partners, the Bill will qualify for cashback and appear on your Cashback dashboard.


Cashback & Discounts | Rebate Eligible Products Directory | 07.16.25

We’ve launched a new feature that provides a single, searchable list of all rebate-eligible products from our supplier partners.


Bids | Streamline PO Creation | 07.09.25

Currently, only about 50% of approved bids have a related PO, due to a multi-step and inefficient workflow.

We’ve added the process of generating a Purchase Order immediately upon bid approval through a checkbox, defaulted to checked, to the bid approval modal. When selected, it triggers the creation of a Purchase Order with bid data pre-filled, streamlining the process and reducing manual steps.


Cashback & Discounts | Scan attachment in Bills | 07.09.25

We’ve improved our OCR technology to better scan receipts attached to Bills in Buildertrend, allowing us to pull detailed information directly from the receipt.

Now, receipts uploaded to Bills, the Cost Inbox, or through Cashback & Discounts will be scanned for eligible offers from our partners. If a match is found, the receipt may qualify for cashback.


Job Costing Budget | Smarter Projected Costs and Budgeting with Pending POs | 07.02.25

We’ve enhanced the Job Costing Budget to give you clearer, more accurate insights into your project’s financial health.

  • A new Pending Costs column now displays all pending Purchase Orders, making it easier to account for upcoming expenses.

  • The Projected Cost column has been updated to include these pending costs in its calculation, giving you a more complete picture of your job’s financial outlook before costs are finalized. These updates help you plan ahead with greater confidence and avoid unexpected budget surprises.


Invoices | Simplified Open Book Invoicing | 07.02.25

We’re introducing a new “Quick Invoice” button, allowing you to quickly add all un-invoiced Buildertrend Bills to an invoice.

This allows for fast, accurate billing by pulling in real project costs without manual entry. It's especially useful when passing through expenses to the client on a regular basis, helping to streamline the invoicing process and ensure no billable items are missed.


Invoices | Automated Fixed Price Draw Schedules | 07.02.25

You can now create a Draw Schedule on Fixed Price jobs to add flexibility and structure to your payment timelines.

This feature allows you to divide the total contract amount into scheduled draws, reducing the time and effort spent manually creating invoices and lowering the risk of errors. It also helps align billing with project progress and supports steady cash flow.


Proposals Overhaul

Job Proposal | View draft proposal in dashboard | 07.23.25

You can now see a clearer view of your active draft proposal right from the proposal dashboard. This makes it easier to track your progress and know whether a proposal has been sent or not.

The +Proposal button will appear greyed out while a draft is in progress, preventing you from starting another draft by mistake. These updates improve visibility into draft proposals and make proposal statuses more intuitive, helping reduce confusion and ensure clients receive the correct version the first time.


Job Proposals | Toggle Signature Line On/Off | 07.09.25

You can now choose to show or hide the signature line on job proposals. This gives you flexibility to send budgetary quotes or “soft bids” without implying a binding agreement. When the signature line is turned off, clients will be prompted to leave feedback instead of signing the proposal.


Job Proposals | Separate Group/Sub-Group/Options Pricing Controls | 07.09.25

We’ve introducing granular control over pricing visibility for groups, subgroups, and options (optional groups). You can now independently select whether prices are shown for parent groups, subgroups, or both.

This update gives you the flexibility to present proposals more clearly and professionally, aligning with your specific pricing strategies.


Job Proposals | Notifications Indicate Status | 07.07.25

Proposal notifications now use more accurate wording based on the action taken. You will see Job Proposal Approved or Job Proposal Declined instead of the previous generic message, "Job proposal signed.


Job Proposals | Hide Redundant Group Titles | 07.07.25

To improve the clarity and appearance of proposals, collapsed groups no longer display the group name twice. This creates a more polished and professional layout.


Job Proposals | Immediately Reflected Status | 07.03.25

We’ve updated the proposal experience so the current status (Sent, Approved, or Declined) is now immediately visible on the proposal itself, without needing to navigate away or refresh.

This update removes confusion caused by the previous behavior, where a new "Not Sent" draft would appear after sending or updating a proposal, making it seem like the action had not gone through.


File Management

Files | Saved User Signatures | 07.16.25

Users can now save one or more signatures to their Buildertrend account, allowing them to reuse their signature (typed, drawn, or uploaded) across future file and feature signature requests, making the signing process faster and more consistent.


Files | New Document Signing Tool | 07.02.25

We’ve rolled out a modern, document-focused signing experience powered by Nutrien, now available directly within the file viewer on the main site (not available on mobile yet).

This update allows users to review and sign documents in context without switching between modals or losing clarity. The new experience simplifies the process with clear calls to action, reducing friction and improving transparency.

Signature requests created before this update will still use the legacy modal experience.
