User Permissions Update
User Roles | Split Full Admin into Org Owner and Admin | 06.04.25
To improve security and streamline account management, the "Full Admin" role has been deprecated and replaced with two distinct roles: Org Owner and Admin.
This change helps limit unnecessary access to sensitive subscription and payment features, promotes more intentional assignment of high-level permissions, and increases transparency around user roles.
By restricting certain capabilities to a smaller group, we’re enhancing overall platform security.
Financials Updates
Job Price Summary | Remaining to pay component update | 06.2.25
We’ve updated the Job Price Summary “Remaining to Pay” component to improve clarity by moving the key value directly next to the remaining amount, removing the “Revised client price total,” and repositioning the key value to the top line. The current color scheme will remain unchanged.
Invoices | Client Last Viewed | 06.25.25
You can now see when your client last viewed an invoice. This visibility is consistent with what’s already available on Lead Proposals, Job Proposals (first viewed), and Change Orders.
Purchase Orders | Approval Status Component | 06.25.25
We’ve added a new approval status feature to purchase orders that gives you real-time insight into each signature’s status. Whether a purchase order is pending, approved, internally approved, declined, or not required, the dedicated signature status panel brings all tracking into one clear, centralized view. This update improves clarity, control, and transparency, helping streamline the approval process for everyone involved.
Job Price Summary | Print View Column Sorting | 06.18.25
You can now sort columns on the Job Price Summary print page and table grids. Organize your data by selection title, choice date, allowance amount, selection choice amounts, and allowance remaining/difference.
Additionally, sorting is now available by title, date, price, payment type, and amount in both the change order and payments received sections.
QuickBooks & Xero | Manage Accounting Links in one Place | 06.04.25
Previously, when integrated with QuickBooks, mapping Buildertrend entities such as jobs, internal users, subs/vendors, and cost codes to their corresponding QuickBooks entities required navigating to each individual section: Job Details, contact cards, and Cost Code settings.
Now, you can manage all these links in one place directly from Company Settings > Accounting. This centralized approach saves time, reduces errors, and streamlines the setup and ongoing management of your QuickBooks integration.
Job Costing Budget | View JCB by Group | 06.04.25
The Job Costing Budget (JCB) that allows you to view JCB data at the job group level. This update enables you to see estimated costs, actual costs, projections, and profit data across multiple jobs within a selected job group, consolidating critical budgeting insights into a single, cohesive view.
Messaging Updates
Comments | Adding Reactions | 06.25.25
To help reduce clutter from brief replies like “Got it” or “Thanks,” we are introducing the option to add reactions, such as 👍 and ❤️, to specific comments in threads. Users can hover over the reaction count to see who reacted and will receive a notification when someone reacts to their comment.
Comments | Reply to a specific comment | 06.18.25
You can now reply directly to specific comments by hovering over a comment and clicking “Reply.” This action quotes the original comment and automatically includes an @ mention of the original commenter.
Comments | @mentions | 06.18.25
You can now tag others using @mentions in comment threads. When tagged, users receive an in-app notification (and optionally an email) with a direct link to the comment. A new notification type, “You were mentioned in a comment”, has also been introduced.
Project Management Updates
Files | Download File Moved to Top as an Icon | 06.25.25
We’ve relocating the download button from the bottom footer to the top toolbar as an icon, making it more visible and accessible as a primary action.
Files | Annotation Duplicate Action | 06.18.25
We’ve added a duplicate icon and action to the annotation toolbar, allowing you to quickly copy shapes, text, stamps, and other annotations. The duplicate icon appears when an annotation is selected, making the duplication process fast and intuitive.
Schedule | Real time details for conflicts | 06.18.25
We’ve introduced real-time availability indicators in the assignee dropdown for schedule items. As you assign team members, you’ll now see a conflict warning icon (!) next to any user who is already scheduled elsewhere. Clicking the icon shows all overlapping assignments across jobs.
Files | Completed signature integrity & mobile parity | 06.11.25
To maintain a professional and reliable signing experience in line with industry best practices, completed Signature Requests on both web and mobile platforms will be locked. This prevents any further changes, cancellations, or resets, and makes all request details read-only.
Schedule | History available to all users with schedule permissions | 06.11.25
Schedule History was released on 05.28.25 (see release notes) but was only available to users with Admin permissions. Now the schedule history is available to all users (assuming they have access to schedules as a whole).
Files | Signature Requests without Leaving Documents | 06.04.25
You can now send signature requests directly from the file viewer. This update speeds up your workflow, reduces clicks, and keeps everything in one easy-to-use interface. You stay in context, save time, and avoid confusion with one consistent way to request signatures.
