Profile Settings
How do I adjust my notifications?
Click Settings from your User Icon on the top right. Select the Notifications tab, then Add/Remove notifications for Email, Text, Push (Mobile App). Click Save.
Can I reset my username or password?
Yes, click Settings from your User Icon on the top right. Select Change Password underneath the profile picture circle, and add photo. Click Save.
How can I update my Certifications and Insurance information?
Click Settings from your User Icon on the top right. Select the Certificates tab, then Choose File to upload.
How do I download the mobile app?
To download the mobile application, navigate to the App Store (iOS) or the Google Play Store (Android) and search Buildertrend. Enter your credentials, or click Forgot Password to reset.
Can I search for something on Buildertrend?
Yes, utilize Global Search, a search bar located at the top of your Subcontractor Portal to search through all tools for information. The search will include

Items in italics are nested items. When nested items are selected from Global Search, they will open the item they are connected to. i.e. clicking on a Selection Choice will open the Selection the choice is tied to.

I have multiple jobs with different builders. Can I link my Subcontractor Portals?
Yes, you can link multiple portals, allowing you to switch between builders without separate logins. Simply follow the instructions in the invitation email and select "Login with existing username and password," then enter your current credentials. A builder dropdown will appear in the top left corner of your Buildertrend account, above the builder logo.
Features
Can I send the builder a quick message?
Yes, you may utilize Direct Chat, Comments or Messages to communicate with your building team. Navigate to the chat icon on the top right of the menu bar, or select your preferred contact method within Messaging.
Can I set a To-Do?
Yes, you may set only yourself a task within To-Dos. Navigate to To-Do's, select New. Customize your To-Do with adding Title, Description, Checklist Items, Due Date, Priority and Attachments.
Can I upload my own photos, files or videos?
Yes, you may upload files to the **Subcontractor Uploaded Files**, within Photos, Documents or Video. You may also upload files onto any feature where Add Attachment is available.
Buildertrend Payments
Who will show as the sender for e-check emails?
E-checks will show no-reply@buildertrend.com as the sender, but the builder’s company name will display as the forwarding email address. The subject line will read. “(Builder company name) has sent you a payment.”
Do I need to sign up or set up anything to start receiving payments?
No, you don’t have to do anything on your end to start receiving payments. If you choose mailed checks, you will need to provide an current physical address.
How long do the payments take to show up in my bank account?
E-checks are sent immediately. Deposit options depend on the subcontractor's choice:
Self-printed checks can be deposited immediately.
Mailed checks are sent via USPS and may take 3 to 14 days to arrive.
How do my I reconcile and view payments made to me?
View all payment information within the Online Payment Report in Buildertrend.
Can I receive payments from their mobile device?
Yes, you may deposit funds from your mobile device by selecting the appropriate deposit option directly from the email when opened using your mobile device.
Can I set up automatic deposits?
No, automatic deposit is not available. Deposit options must be selected per e-check.
My builder says they’ve sent me multiple payments, but I only see one in my inbox. How do I view all my payments?
Some email providers use conversation view, grouping emails with the same sender and subject. If you've received multiple payments from a builder on the same day, they may be combined in a single thread. Click to expand each email and view individual payments.
